You have also an option to enable the PTT itself maybe try also changing this one:

i don't know if this message was for me,but the offsets were the same
i tried with that offset and value = 0x1 and it keeps resetting to 0x0

should i try one more time?

0x687 and 0xEFD No effect?

I try following the guide you had, and saw dvdandroid saying he has Z170P, but not sure how to get setup_extr.txt. My motherboard is Z170-P not the Z170-P D3 hope there no confusion, BIOS is 3805, Intel ME 11.8.55.3510 this from the asus website, when I used the AMIBCP I can see that PCH-FW, as well Trusted Computing, but these do not show up in the BIOS at all, not sure why they're not showing either. Can you help me with this?

I try following the guide you had, and saw dvdandroid saying he has Z170P, but not sure how to get setup_extr.txt. My motherboard is Z170-P not the Z170-P D3 hope there no confusion, BIOS is 3805, Intel ME 11.8.55.3510 this from the asus website, when I used the AMIBCP I can see that PCH-FW, as well Trusted Computing, but these do not show up in the BIOS at all, not sure why they're not showing either. Can you help me with this?

I'm with you. I have a Z170-P, with the exact same versions of BIOS and ME, and I have AMIBCP V5.02. When I open the BIOS .CAP file I downloaded from ASUS, it shows the PTT-FW option in the file structure, but if you look at the very top option it's set to not show and there isn't a way to set it to enabled in AMIBCP that I can see. I also don't know where he's getting the txt file with the config. The line in the original post where he says 2.Using AMI setup IFR extractor in UBU to get configuration file offset...I don't have a clue what this means.

I think what I need to do is open up the 3805 bios CAP file, enable the option somehow, save the new config to the 3805 BIOS and then boot into the modified BIOS file to see the option. Problem is, I have no idea how to get the option enabled or the config saved. Been driving me nuts for the last 4 days!

download the zip file from post #12
unzip it
open folder "UBU_v1_79_16_5" and delete the subfolder Files
double click on UBU.bat file
choose the bios .cap file and wait the loading
once finished, press a button to continue and finally press: S
inside the folder you'll find a _Setup_Z170-P-ASUS-3805.CAP folder with setup_extr.txt file

if you need other explanation steps, i may help you (same bios&motherboard)
i've got no successful results at this time

Now it seems that only a small number of people can turn on PTT in this way. Most users have Manufacturing Mode disabled and can't adjust CVARs & FPF settings

Did you boot in FULL UEFI mode ? (CSM Disabled)

My CSM is disabled

I suggest you update ME firmware to the latest version, such as CSME 11.8 Consumer H D,A v11.8.86.3909

What is ME? How could I update that?

...
install Intel MEI Drivers, use FWUpdate can simply update MEv11 in Windows

I have finally managed to update that. Yet nothing changes.
I set setup_var 0x687 0x01 and it resets after reboot.
Nothing new in the BIOS.

But I think I found something weird in the setup_extr.txt, could it be that it's always suppressing it? Please check the screenshot

Could anyone take a look at this screenshot? Does it mean it's always disabled no matter what?

Edit: here is the full scale image

Adjusting UEFI hidden settings without flash mod_BIOS
1.get your BIOS(Download from the official website of the device or back up your current BIOS with AFUWIN64)
2.Using AMI setup IFR extractor in UBU to get configuration file offset

Working perfectly on my Asus Maximus VIII Hero + i7 6700K. "setup_var 0x6A6 0x1" did the job. Thanks!

download the zip file from post #12
unzip it
open folder "UBU_v1_79_16_5" and delete the subfolder Files
double click on UBU.bat file
choose the bios .cap file and wait the loading
once finished, press a button to continue and finally press: S
inside the folder you'll find a _Setup_Z170-P-ASUS-3805.CAP folder with setup_extr.txt file

if you need other explanation steps, i may help you (same bios&motherboard)
i've got no successful results at this time

Thank you so much, I never knew and was confused, but thank you so much for explaining this. Now I see what you mean, even I'm stumped on this, as I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking for from this if in case was reworded in someway. It be great to enable PTT setting, or be even nice to have PCH-FW to appear in the BIOS at the very least.

I check all the boxes except for TPM to using Windows 11, but this kind of sucks Microsoft trying to force a setting that no one really uses, or even think about besides businesses really. I had to convert my MBR to GPT few days ago, forgot to do that for the longest time I had this system since 2016. Anyways I'm hoping they drop TPM as a requirement to install / use Windows 11 next year, as I hate to throw this system away just because of Windows 11 when Windows 10 support get dropped.

#86 RE: Cannot enable Intel PTT (TPM 2.0) at ASUS Z170-A by Kirattus 03.07.2021 17:57

i'm trying this, unsuccessfully (maximus VIII formula, bios 3801 - last || with 6700k)

command
setup_var 0x6A5 > output 0x00
setup_var 0x6A5 0x1 > output 0x01
or
setup_var 0x6A5 0x01 > output 0x01

and nothing works.

The value just back to 0x00 when restart my PC
Any Idea?
