@kyl:
Since you referred within your last post about the topic "vbios update" to this thread, I have merged both threads and moved your 2 posts here.
This way SoniX as the author of the VBIOS transfer guide has a better chance to find your contributions and - if applicable - to customize the text of his guide.

@RoadrunnerDB Do you mean for Skylake? I've updated my VBIOS using SoniX method and it works fine.

For GOP Driver SKL/KBL? Yes.
Attached VBT.BIN + VBT.BSF v2.03 for GOP Driver SKL/KBL v9.0.1039 and above.

This is the original vbios. I open it with BMP and the skl_1033.bsf file. Then save all to transfer.ssf file wich is larger than 30kb. Why? I updated the bios even this file is larger and no problem.

The file is from the bios 1601, asus maximus hero VIII. Thanks for your attention.

@ jlmcr87
If the transfer settings were not error messages, and it works without problems, then all is well.
30 KB limit is not, there is an exception when the the settings file has reached the size of 70 KB.

Hello, i have a small comprehension question.
As far as i can tell the EFI GOP driver and VBT table are separated, while the (legacy) OROM driver includes both.

Can the VBT be extracted from the OROM for using it for the EFI GOP driver?

If you are using Legacy mode is used with the internal BIOS OROM nastroykmi.
If you use the UEFI mode for GOP Driver uses the settings from a separate file VBT.

No. In VBT for GOP used their settings and they are different from the OROM settings.
