Hi,

Is it possible to include the .ffs files in the .rar archives? The .efi files cannot be used by the MMTool and UEFITool cannot handle compressed modules.

Anyway, Win-Raid is an excellent resource for drivers :-) ! Donation has been made.

The problem is, that there are a lot of different FFS files for the same DXE Driver version available (due to the various GUID headers and dependencies), but only 1 single EFI file (containing the only relevant code of the DXE Driver "body").

The .efi files cannot be used by the MMTool and UEFITool cannot handle compressed modules.
All EFI files, which are offered within the start post, are uncompressed and can be converted to FFS files by using the UEFITool.
By the way: The UEFITool can handle compressed BIOS files. The only thing, what cannot be done by the UEFITool, is the extraction of a compressed BIOS file as uncompressed.

Hello,

I plan to update the firmware for IRST and IRSTe controllers on my x79 motherboard (ASUS P9X79 Pro) with UBU (UEFI BIOS Updater) v1.70 RC 10.2

Current firmware versions:
- IRST v12.7.0.1936 (should I use v12.9.0.2006 or v13.5.0.2164 ?)
- IRSTe v3.5.0.1005 (should I use v3.8.0.1029 or v5.3.0.1052 ?)

Windows 10 Device Manager:
- Intel(R) C600 series chipset SATA AHCI Controller
- PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1D02
- DEV_2826 (RSTe mode) resp. DEV_2822 (RST mode)
- Windows Driver v5.4.9.1004 (IRSTe)

UEFITool:
- GUID: 43A0A7B3-1E92-42EF-A46D-DDC03E52CB5C

Thank you for your help!

UPDATE 1
The latest firmaware for IRSTe v5.3 doesn't show when I copy the EFI file to UBU - it must be a different GUID.

UPDATE 2
Unfortunately, I am not able to update the IRST/IRSTe because UBU hangs on: OROM IRST DevID 2822.
More specifically, it opens MMTool and displays: "Error in opening the input module file".

Just wanted to submit a report that I tried flashing the 16.5.x and 16.7.x RaidDriver and OROM modules on my Asus Z170 board (Maximus VIII Hero), and it did not go well. The BIOS stopped recognizing all drives connected to Intel SATA ports. The latest versions that work are 15.9.x . Definitely have full backups readily accessible if you experiment with this. Flashing 16.x.x caused my RAID array to fail, and during the course of experimenting, I had to rebuild it from scratch several times. It was worth a shot, but there you go...

Time will eventually betray us all, I suppose.

Hi everyone,

Can someone guild me where I can find the EFI IRST RAID for SATA v11? These that are listed are v13 for the 7 series and are for enterprise.
I did find the OROM IRST RAID v11 as shown below from the UBU Tool results.

Disk Controller
[Current version]
EFI IRST RAID for SATA - 11.5.0.1582
OROM IRST RAID for SATA - 11.0.0.1339

[Available version]
OROM IRST RAID for SATA - 11.2.0.1527

Any help would be appreciated.

Intel has never released RST EFI RAID BIOS modules, which belong to the v11 platform.
If you want, that your on-board Intel RAID Controller uses a v11 platform BIOS module (e.g. the Intel RAID ROM v11.2.0.1527), you have to install the OS in LEGACY mode.

Thank you for welcoming me to the forum.

I'm trying to update a P8Z77-V-DELUXE. (Z77 chipset)
Would you kindly recommend me which alternative version I can use?
Can I use an enterprise version instead? Example; Intel RST(e) RAID ROM v13.1.0.2126 & Intel RST(e) EFI "RaidDriver" v13.1.0.2126

Disk Controller
[Current version]
EFI IRST RAID for SATA - 11.5.0.1582
OROM IRST RAID for SATA - 11.0.0.1339

Hi @Fernando!
I saw tests of raid drivers here: Performance of the Intel RST/RSTe AHCI/RAID Drivers and version Intel RST(e) v15.5.5.1059 WHQL has amazing perfomance...
Do you have in your base Intel RST(e) EFI "RaidDriver" v15.5.5.1059 (without header) with RaidDriver.efi?
I found only "pure" Intel RST(e) EFI "RaidDriver" v15.5.1.3017 (without header) at the first page of the topic

@hoffer:
An Intel RST(e) EFI RAID module v15.5.5.1059 doesn't exist and is not required for your Intel RAID system at all.
The latest Intel EFI RAID module v15.5.1.3017 is the best choice for all existing and upcoming Intel RST(e) RAID drivers, which belong to the RST v15.5 development branch.

#600 RE: Intel EFI "RaidDriver" and "GopDriver" BIOS Modules by hoffer 10.10.2018 15:09

Thanks @Fernando!
If I choose best WRITE speed (with driver v16.0.10.1104) than best READ speed what version of EFI do you suggest v16.0.1.3397 (without header) or v16.0.7.3491 (without header) ?
Or may be it is better to choose v15.5.1.3017 (without header) with best READ? But score in orange box better in v16...What is better for overall maximum perfomance?
