Hi,

I looking to add the BIOS chip details (voltage, chip ID etc.) for my 'mx25l12872fm2i-10g' BIOS chip (Dell laptop) into the EPZ2019 application but I can't find where to pull this kind of data from the internet.

I've looked at the manufacturers datasheets but can't find where to reference this data from (I'm a newbie at this stuff so bare with me if I've missed something obvious).

Can anyone help or provide guidance?

However, this doesn't quite get me any further with helping to add a new chip via Chip Editor in EPZ2019 (at least on the surface it doesn't).

Basically, I'm trying to read/write/verify a MX25L12872F chip but it keeps on being automatically detected as a MX25L12805D.
I've tried using this chip config and so far its bricked two laptops.

If someone could please provide the below chip details, its would be greatly appreciated:

EPZ2019 Chip Editor Chip Requirements:

The speed reference could well be the issue, but I think I'll order a cheap CH341A flash tool to see if it'll do the trick instead (as per comments in the second link).

I know its going off on a tangent now, but I just can't get a BIOS image to load onto my bricked laptop.

Its a Dell Vostro 5481, which I'd taken an image of the BIOS chip (via .bin file) before hand.
I detected the chip, selected the correct one from the suggestions provided, read the contents and saved it.

Following this shortly after, I unprotected the chip (if this actually does anything), erased the chip, loaded the .bin image and wrote it back to the chip, verified the chip, but still no luck.

This was all done without any power cable connected, the internal battery unplugged and the BIOS/CMOS battery disconnected.

I repeated the whole procedure with the CMOS battery plugged in, battery plugged in and power cable plugged in.

Still no joy.

Is there something I'm missing, or is this chip just a quirky model?
