This is the thread for users, who want to modify their mainboard BIOS their own. >Here< is the location for BIOS modding requests. By the way - I generally do not modify BIOSes on request.
An easy step-by-step guide about how to get full NVMe support for old systems with an AMI UEFI BIOS is within the start post of this thread. If you are unsure about the result of your BIOS modding procedure, I will check your work (need the original and your modded BIOS).

Since my Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H rev.1.0 mainboard doesn't support booting off an NVMe SSD, I need a modded BIOS.
Can you help me?

@mrplamp: If you are unsure regarding the result of your own BIOS modification, post it into the linked thread and attach the original and your modded BIOS. Then I will check them and give you more security for the flashing procedure.

Hmmm, so i loaded the new bios and the pcie adapter is in the pc without the power tripping, but nothing is picked up as yet no storage, nothing is disk management

hi all,
i modded as instructed and it displayed from the gpu with the adapter in the x4 pcie lane but then it reverted to second bios and has not been able to display since.
not sure if its some bios setting or perhaps version f13 of the bios should not be modded and only f9 works like @Lost_N_BIOS has done

EDIT: Can i go to bios and then plug in the adapter? will anything blow if i do it while the pc is on in bios?

Which BIOS modding tool did you use and which NVMe module did you insert?

No, the computer should be fully powered off before you can safely add/insert/plug-in anything to the mainboard or remove/unplug anything.

The "small" NVMe module can be properly inserted by the MMTool v4.50 into the BIOSes 15a and F13. I have tested it myself.

@lji: Among the compressed archives only those with the extension *.zip or *.rar can be attached (max. size: 6 MB).

sorry for the late reply. i was getting some rest, i tried even the lite nvme dxe with rev f13 but pc does not display when pcie adapter is inserted.
