Hi Fernando, first of all I thank you for all your support and expertise. I was able to successfully MOD my P8Z77-M PRO bios and flash back it without any issues. But i can't get the Windows 10 OS to install on my WD SN550 NVME 1TB SSD mounted on PCI-E x4 M.2 adapter. I get error that Windows cannot find required files to install (Please check the screenshot). After trying to reinstall Windows 10 second time after getting error install window shows no drivers listed. I have unplugged all my HDDs and trying to install only on NVME SSD. I tried disabling "Fast boot", CSM and Secure boot and enabling CSM later but in vain. I even tried changing USB drives, tried installing from a latest fresh release of Windows 10 USB drive directly downloaded from the internet. Tried disabling ASMEDIA SATA controller even. Any help would be much appreciated?

BTW I have prepared my Windows 10 bootable USB drive using GPT (UEFI) and have also created a GPT style partitions on my NVME SSD. I don't think it should matter. I am also thinking of creating a bootable MBR partition style USB instead of GPT and trying to install on a MBR partition on my NVME SSD just for testing.

Thanks for your reply, I have verified MODDED BIOS with the original BIOS CAP file and I have made sure that no padding files have been tampered with. I will also send you my MODDED BIOS file for verification. I see PATA SS option in my boot options and Secure Boot settings has been turned off and all the security Keys deleted. Please check my attachments.

Finally I got it working !!! I got windows 10 OS to install on my WD SN550 NVME SSD 1TB by doing the changes to the ASUS P8Z77-M PRO UEFI BIOS below (Options below are same on most of the ASUS UEFI motherboards):

Hi Fernando, yes at least it worked for me by disabling SATA controller. Earlier in this topic I have come across that some people reported compatibility issues with SATA controller enabled and I overlooked it. Later when I read the article in the Dell website I tried disabling it. I have two SATA 6 Gbps HDDs installed in my system along with NVME SSD and have disconnected both HDDs earlier each time i tested with different options. But the last time I tried differently was with both the HDDs connected, and SATA controller disabled. Believe me I have been trying to get it to work by playing around with different BIOS options for 4 days now but couldn't get to work until I disabled SATA controller and it worked for me lately.

I've been following this thread for a while, in fact it was last spring when I completed the NVMe boot module insertion procedure. Finally got around to flashing the BIOS this past weekend & everything proceeded as you detail in your most EXCELLENT guide. Booting off an NVMe SSD now 👍

Update of my last post
Today I have done some additional tests with my Z68 system running a freshly installed Win10 x64 v1703 on a Samsung 960 EVO SSD:

1. As first step I wanted to know what happens, when the on-board Intel SATA Controller has been set to "RAID" mode. So I switched temporarily the SATA mode to RAID within the BIOS and rebooted.
   Result: The Intel SATA RAID Controller worked properly (no yellow flag, no Code 10 error message).
   Conclusion: Only the AHCI mode of the Intel SATA Controler seems to be affected by the issue.
2. To find out, whether it is just the brandnew NvmExpressDxe_3.ffs module, which gave me the Intel SATA AHCI Controller issue, I flashed a BIOS, where I had replaced the NVMe module by the NvmExpress_2.ffs file offered by me within the start post. Then I restored all previous BIOS settings and rebooted into the OS.
   Result: Everything worked, but the Device Manager showed again the Intel SATA AHCI Controller with a yellow flag and the message "This device cannot start (Code 10)". To exclude, that this message was a relict of the issue I had with the previously flashed BIOS, I uninstalled the device from within the Device Manager and rebooted. This action didn't change the result. The yellow flag and the error message came up again.
   Conclusion: The issue seems to be not specificly caused by the brandnew NvmExpressDxe_3 module.

What I do not yet know is, whether the Intel SATA AHCI Controller issue is a specific one of my ASUS Z68 mainboard or a common one.

To find it out, we need more test results from other users with an older Intel Chipset system, who are using an NVMe SSD as system drive and had inserted any NVMe module into their mainboard BIOS to be able to boot off it.
Questions: What about your Intel SATA AHCI Controller? Does it work properly?
Don't forget to mention the model/chipset of your mainboard and the NVMe module variant you had inserted into the BIOS.

By the way: As long as the system drive (here: Samsung 960 EVO) is not SATA connected, the SATA AHCI mode issue doesn't affect the data of the related SATA connected HDDs/SSDs, which have been written in AHCI mode. They can be read and modified in RAID mode as well.

I have the following problem when inserting the file. Various error messages appear with both programs. "Image reconstruction failed - Invalid UEFI Volume" (UEFI-Tool). Maybe the volumespace is too small, but is there a possibility to insert it or to enlarge the volumepart of dxe drivers?
In the mmtool report I saw, that there are only 5kb left in dxe section, the small nvme driver is about 6kb. Is there any possibility to enlarge the volume to insert it or could someone mod the bios for me?

My board is a Fujitsu D3222-A1 with an Intel Q87 chipset.
My M.2 SSD is in an "ASUS Hyper M.2 X16 Card V2" PCiE Card.

If I should add some picuture from the modding software or bios screens, just let me know

Could someone (@Abban or @Fernando) help me and could take a look to the bios?

I guess there is some issue with NVME drivers getting along with SATA AHCI protocol within windows. I too got the code 10 error in device manager but under PCI communications device. I resolved that issue by using Driver Booster (Free Version) which i think does the job very well. Pls give it a shot install it and it should fix the problem unless the problem lies within your mod BIOS file. I have Asus P8Z77M-Pro motherboard and using NVME WD SN550 1 TB SSD mounted on a PCIe x4 adapter. I don't have a driver issue though but facing frequent BOSDs (WHEA uncorrectable error) all the time. My BIOS mod, flashback and windows 10 installation was successful but can't get my NVME SSD to work properly under Windows 10. I tried disabling SATA controllers in BIOS and unplugging every other hard disk in my system and have tried everything possible from my end. Tried disabling all BIOS overclocking, reinstalled Windows 10 twice but in vain. However, my systems works a little better when I am using Windows SAFE MODE with NETWORKING. Any further assistance and expertise on this issue is much appreciated. Thanks.

In order to save troubles, I have sold my Asus P8Z77V-LK, and turned to my favorite Asrock(Z77 extreme4). This one works fine with the same NVME module and method.

I believe it's the problem of Asus BIOS as I have tried the NVME module from Asus Z97 and this forum. It seems the bios must recognize a HDD/SDD connection.

I personally think there's somewhere a compatibility issue in my pc. Couldn't get the issue to resolve.
