Is it possible to mod any bios to always show that device is connected to x8 or x16 pcie slot?

E.g. I want to have device physically connected to pcie x1 on the motherboard and I want to show that is connected to x8 or x16. I just need to send a fake info to the system about pcie width.

Is it possible to show fake pcie width?
