Hi,

I need some help to edit my laptop bios (AMI UEFI Aptio V). Actually even I don't have a raid 0 volume created, I have only the choice of "Intel RST Premium".
This setting don't let me update the SSD firmware (I plugged only one SSD 970 evo plus who was raid0 earlier and booted with Win 10 install to format it, but still can not select only AHCI)
I tried GParted Live USB boot too and the single SSD is not recognized. One thing I forgt to try, but I think it's not related, is to disable Secure boot.


So I use AMIBCP to find the settings to change in bios but need some advice :

Serial ATA Controller 0-1-2 pages are identical except the number at the top (Serial ATA Controller 0-1-2 Settings) :


I didn't take screenshoot of some other SATA settings. They don't look like important for my matter !
Can I edit and save the bios in AMIBCP or I should use another tool ? (Flashing part is working with FPTW)
If someone can help would be great. I need to reinstall all my PC. Thanx in advance.

its Raid locked,interesting.Also found AHCI sata confing
two seperate locked settings present.you should be able to pick one,from what i can tell from looking at it

PS : I opened you modded bios in AMIBCP still can not choose AHCI or RAID. If it's not possible to add AHCI as a choice in menu then you can disable RAID. I will not use it anymore. Thanx

cant even see csmcore properly,either amitool is failing,or something is wrong with this bios file.if you are open to some experimenting i will try something else.probably wont burn the board,but you might want to keep that modified version ready in a seperate usb
also,i have checked the manual,there is nothign useful

yes open to some experimenting but should be a bios not harmfull because I am abroad and I don't have my IC programmer

Thanx give me like 30 minutes I need remove everything again. I am back on Raid0 with a backup.

I have now only one SSD plugged with Win10 and tweaked bios not working.

Nothing new. "Intel RST Premium" choice only like before.

alright,leave it like that till you get home.lets not mingle anymore till you got some tools with you,or access to one at least
in the mean time,
Updating management engine firmware also recommended,
Intel (Converged Security) Management Engine: Drivers, Firmware and Tools

As rule of thumb,keep your OS,apps,bios and drivers updated

Everything ok. I had to edit bios and disable SATA. Then I got only one port who was in NVME mode. Flashed SSD firmware and reflashed original bios.

Will never buy Samsung or Asus products again. They are joking to the face of customers.
