I'm looking my friend's conversation on bios mod forum with Lost_N_BIOS He's give disclaimer and said : "this firmware may loose your UUID or serial and LAN MAC." If you can help me how to backup it?

@setya87 The bios dump you saved in post #6 contain everything, just save it in a safe place (external usb drive)

these information will be erased when flashing stock bios file using intel flash utility, lost bios was right about it, good thing you mentioned it, but if you flash the dump file they will be restored

as long as you have the dump file you are safe, and if you post it here I can help you write these information to the stock bios file

Update 1 : result on IFR showing these GUID for my bios dump using Intel csme system tools v11 r37.
But, the subGUID is not detected for my bios dump.
Is the subGUID important ?
Or im continue and ignore it about the subGUID?

@HP_ThinksUrDumb thanks for the information, but dont know how to backup current table's on ASUS DMI configuration utility.

Default Value 0x0 mean my bios Capsule is DISABLE LOCK ?

Here's my VBIOS version is 1049 is correct with my gtx1050 (non Ti) gpu ?
The VBIOS version comeback after flashing from current bios GL553VE AS307 to latest GL553VE AS308 via Ezflash 3 and my VBIOS come back! Before the status is N/A (flashing 3 or 4 times) and now VBIOS is back!

Last report and not rush to flash my bios now just waiting BIOS modding guru to be helped my problem.
This is the STOCK of GL553VD AS308 last check has 0x0 or BIOS lock disable and i dont know how the next step to go.

Now what should i do?
I'm actually not hurried, but i'm still curious what should i do for replace the information of my bios to modified bios GL553VDAS308.

@setya87 Your bios is locked, please check again the thread I linked before to unlock your bios, [Tool Guide] AMI Setup - IFR Extractor AMISetupWriter

on a USB drive, make a folder EFI and sub-folder inside it named Boot and then copy the efi file as BOOTX64.EFI and unlock your bios (you may have to disable secure boot) (btw I never used that utility I used another one but it is more complicated for you) or simply just extract Boot_Shell_AmiSetupWriter.rar into the root fodler of the USB flash and boot using it,

I made a new bios for you, I didn't mode or update any module, or the microcode, it is up to you if you want to I can do it for you.

The bios I am uploading has the same EC first 128KB so there is no risk for bricking the motherboard, however , I will recommend that you do it at your own risk and remember there is always a chance to do things wrong.

again, don't do anything your are not sure of, post anything you are not sure of, to wait is better than bricking your motherboard

I just want my DMI information about uuid, serial, asset tag, and lan mac doesn't looose, JUSt it. But i dont know how to replace this information to a new stock bios and different frrom gl553ve dumped bios to gl553vd.

And i'm glad very helpfully after you reply again, i just curious how should i do and for about 3 days it's still no progress and afraid to install my bios with different type until i wait a response from you.

In my fpt showing GbE does not exist after FPTw.exe -bios f- biosreg.bin to check and verify the dumped bios. and the MAC id installed is 00-02-07-00-00-00 as you can see in my photo's of bios, but i'm dont sure if the mac id is the correct one or just wrong inserted.

@jen1 you can check for post #18 UPDATE 3: it showing my var offset is 0x8AA and the default bios is 0x0 is mean = disable as you can see in my pic.
And i'm boot from efi shell and typing the command amisetupwriter 0x8AA 0x0 and the updated setup is 0x0 same as the pic..

If yeah, i want to flash your attached bios now using fpt from folder CSME system tools v11 (for my ME 11.6).

Before i flash your attached bios file i'm checking GL553VD find string in Hex editor neo and he showing the type is correct like this pic. But cant find serial id.

I have succesfully installing that attached file's, BUT, my bios is running in dual bios as you can see in this pic.

The left device is the new installed bios, and the right is my gl553ve bios.

And about the information of new flashed bios just the serial and uuid changed (maybe inserted random num)


In my opinion is this board has been flashed to wrong bios+not correct information except serial number.
The board information is coreected or just random serial? (I bought this laptop with problem of bios, other that is normally)


Maybe someone in this forum can helped me to give me dumped bios of gl553vd?

It's strange that my laptop is running with dual bios and how to be installed only one bios?

Or maybe using DOS or ch341a programmer will solve my problems ? 🤔

@setya87 I am busy this week and will not be able to look at the new dump right now, however I may have missed the serial number, try this new edited bios instead.


p.s. you don't have to worry about the serial number, it used to trace you. Some people, me included, remove serial numbers and change MAC addresses, and Intel stop serial number their CPUs for the risk of being traced.

When im downgrade or update from asus website for gl553vd bios using WinFlash is safe or not?

I have dual bios in device manager, and how to remove safety and just running 1 bios in device manager?

And i also have problem blanking screens after installing intel iGPU.
Maybe my GOP bios version is not been updated yet and causing blank screen.
Can you give me guide how to update my GOP to latest version of Kabylake processor?

The photo's is connected using hdmi port and does not show the screen.
My opinion is the intel GOP driver is not up to date.

Don't do anything to NVIDIA vbios, first NVIDIA has nothing to do with it, second you will brick you NVIDIA card.

HDMI in laptop won't display until the driver is loaded not like in PC , and your HDMI is connected and controlled by Intel VGA and not by NVIDIA.

I modded your bios and updated few modules, Intel video Gob included, and the Microcode, this may not fix your issue, but it worth a try.

BTW you don\t have to unlock your bios if you are using external flasher, I though you gonna use Intel flashing tool.
