Do you have microcodes for pentium n4200 (cpuid 506c9) ?
In mce data base №1370 is latest dated 04032017. Althogh platform is 03 not 01 like me, I think this is the same

As I've explained in the past, they are not the same. It's not a visual difference, a new platform was added (KBL-X).

If platform 22 and 2A are different, is it safe to flash 2A on 22 (UBU shows that for my laptop) through ubu or cpumcupdate 2.1? Hex size is same 17800

If you want, that plutomaniac gets a notification about your request, you should use the direct addressing as I just did for you ("@" instead of "Dear ").

Size doesn't matter when it comes to microcodes. As you can see from the linked post, 2A "succeeds" 22 so yes, it is fully backwards compatible.

No. CFL uses the same Socket LGA1151, that's all. It requires 300-series PCH according to Intel.

The first thing need to do is to flash the BIOS from the Z370 to Z270, eg: MSI Z370-A Pro is a complete clone MSI Z270-A PRO. we'll see what happens...

PS. all beta bios from z370 (any mb) contain microcodes from Kaby Lake and Skylake, but with these processes the motherboard does not even start, even the fans do not spin.

That doesn't say much as OEMs tend to leave/forget old/incompatible microcodes at BIOS images. It's possible that the socket is not exactly the same. Maybe something similar to LGA2011 v3, same layout but different electrical signals.

2. will update the CPU Microcode, but the users should evaluate themselves, whether they take the risk or not.

You should be satisfied, that the UBU tool indicates, which sort of updates are not as safe as others.
By the way: Each BIOS flashing procedure is risky, especially when the BIOS has been modified. That is why the users should calculate the risks, before they decide to update everything, which is within their mainboard BIOS.
Example: For users, who are running their system with disabled CSM, it doesn't make any sense to update the Option ROM modules. Reason: They are not used by the system!

Hi,

I would like to add microcode update (to fix HT bug) to the latest BIOS of my card, ASUS Z170 Pro gaming v3501.
I already added them with UBU, but because of the warning about MC update in UBU, I'm afraid of bricking my board when flashing it.
How can I tell if the MC were succesfully added an safe to flash ?

Welcome to the Win-RAID Forum!
I don't know any easier and safer way for newbees to update the CPU Microcode of the BIOS than to let the UBU tool do it.
AFAIK only some X99 chipset mainboard BIOSes are affected by the "Error in replacing file" message. Please read the related chapter within the start post of >this< thread.
Nevertheless you should store somethere the original BIOS, just to be able to flash it, if anything should go wrong.

My bios contains 4 microcodes (Z170 Deluxe), may I just replace the Skylake and Kabylake with UBU (so removing the other 2) and correcting FIT for the second microcode?
