Is the acpi.sys the only reason why threadripper and the newer AGESAS aren't working or is there something else with Asrock boards?

I went back and reread the whole thread a few days ago, and I saw the issue with Threadripper, but I didn't notice anything about X570 or B550 boards having the same issue as Threadripper does. Is it the same issue or something else?

edit - Just reread it all again.. it seems that no one knows about Asrock boards but in general as BIOS versions are updated, it is breaking the ACPI BIOS check, and we just need to hope that future versions fix this? Is it possible that ACPI.sys mod won't be needed in the future, or that it will be needed forever?

I'm using 1950x on Asrock x399m. occasional random bsod happen from time to time. I'm on 1.10 bridge bios.
No modded Acpi.sys.

From what i read come to conclusion that x570 is more stable platform than TR x399.

Hello everyone! I had this problem. It was solved by a BIOS update. The BIOS I was 7B93v15. I flashed it to the latest 7B93v1A.When installing Windows 7, the Bsod disappeared, everything is now installed without problems. The only thing I can't use WI-FI and Bluetooch, because there is no driver for this motherboard under Windows 7. If anyone has such a driver, please give a link to download.

My system; MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI, and Risen7 3800 x, G. Skill RipjawsVDDR4 4x8Gb, AMD Radeon RX 590 SAPPHIRE NITRO, SSD Samsung 860 PRO MZ-76P256BW.

@asrock i had used a320m-hdv board with windows 7 and zen+ for quite some time without problems; updated also to latest bios if remember well, so there should not be problem in general with asrock. also the support was very friendly and helpful.
only with a300 barebone i could not achieve, but did not try hard enough either, i suppose. that board would not even start with a bristol ridge cpu and windows 7 together, but i think other people with more experience and perseverance could certainly make it function

Also look at the stupid high idle power, I can't seem to find a definite answer on that either.

I went back to my 2600. I couldn't stand my fans ramping up every five seconds because lol thermal spikes, even with fan smoothing enabled in BIOS (which does jack shit though)

Or the fact that I can't find anything regarding OCing my specific RAM on Zen 2. At least I can now enjoy silence once again.

have quite some programs running in the tastkabar, so it's not really running at "idling", but ok

@User32 If I remeber corretly, the thing is that coretemp and other tools cause a spike in the frequency, just by getting their information. And that happens so fast the they detect the 'high' frequency, not the one at idling.
I had the same experience with my current 3700X after I changed it from a 2700X. Required higher idle fan speed and almost instantaniously, with an all-core load, the fans started to speed up and hit full speed after about 10 seconds. What I did in the end is just disable the boost setting (I can't remember the correct name of that setting, and now he is quiet like the 2700X, maybe even more, I am not shure.

FYI, i have recently purchased and tested the ASROCK X570 CREATOR motherboard and it is not windows 7 ACPI compliant with any released bios version as of date of posting and has been returned.

those looking for a new windows 7 compatible x570 motherboard should avoid the asrock x570 creator motherboard.

Interesting, looks like ASUS updated the BIOS for the Crosshair VII WiFi to 4007. Should I flash it and try my 3950X again?

EDIT: Flashed it and tried the 3950X again. Still BSoDs with or without modded acpi.sys

AGESA Combo V2 1.1.8.0 has some bugs.

Im happy to report that the MSI Prestige X570 Creation has a windows 7 compatible Bios. Windows 7 been installed and is fully functional expect for the intel wifi & Bluetooth devices which was expected based on other threads listed here and im ok with. NVME updates and USB drivers are functioning without issue. please note that for this motherboard i did experience issues with the 1.0.0.13 USB drivers causing USB sticks to malfunction when plugged into USB3.0 slots and not transfer data. This was fixed by switching to the 1.0.5.3 USB drivers provided by @canonkong (thanks!) and USB is working flawlessly with USB devices tested so far across all ports ( razer blackadder mouse, madcats kv5 keyboard, turtle beach stealth 450 headset, nexus 6 phone, and various models of USB sticks and portable hard drives)

now if only cyberpunk 2077 was as bug free as my system is...........................................
