Hi Guys, hoping for some help with a problematic USB device in Windows 10 x64

Im using an MSI Gaming 9 ACK X99A motherboard. The spec from the manual offers this info.
USB ■■Intel® X99 Express Chipset
-- 6x USB 3.0 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available
through the internal USB 3.0 connectors*)
-- 6x USB 2.0 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available
through the internal USB 2.0 connectors)
■■ASMedia ASM1142
-- 2x USB 3.1 ports on the back panel
■■VIA VL805
-- 4x USB 3.0 ports on the back panel
* Internal JUSB3 connector supports MSI Super Charger.

ISSUE:
recently i cloned my Windows 10 Pro v20H2 x64 256GB to a 1TB replacement. Everything went well, or so i thought....
I'm not sure weather doing the clone or weather just a coincidence... but 4 of the on-board USB ports stopped working.... (Im not sure if these are the VIA VL805 - 4x USB 3.0 ports on the back panel ? As I see no reference to VIA in my drivers list ? So I assume they are maybe Intel?).

Anyway, I noticed that in Device manager, it stated "Unknown USB Device (Device failed Enumeration)" and also had a yellow exclamation mark on it.
I had tried everything to fix it but nothing has worked. I found this forum and attempted to use this driver;
"pure 64bit Intel USB 3.0+3.1 Drivers v5.0.4.43 re-mod+signed by Fernando"
They installed ok , but now the only change is that the exclamation mark has gone and no drivers have been installed. The 4 USB Ports still don't work (they do provide power only).

What did i do wrong ?

Note: My mobo is supposed to have VIA VL805 USB controller but it does not appear anywhere ?

In HWINFOx64, it shows the PROBLEM device as;
"INTEL Wellsburg PCH - USB 3.0 xHCI Host Controller [B1]"
"USB Root Hub"
"Port7 : Device Failed Enumeration"
"PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_8D31&SUBSYS_78821462&REV_05"

Any suggestions as to my next step to remedy ?

oh, and ive have just noticed that Intel ME driver isnt anywhere to be found either.... ugh

I came across this topic while google searching driver issue.

Recently I bought an Asrock B460m motherboard with matching LGA1200 Intel i3. I'm having a hard time installing Windows 2008 server on it.

In the past I could get away installing Windows 7 drivers or editing INF file to match existing hardware ID. This time I'm hitting a dead end with this rig.

I'm needing network adapter and USB drivers. If you would please be so kind to point me in right direction, I would appreciate it.

Currently I work on my next ISO release, and I can recommend you this, as far as I can see it, this works good (I've done some testing on ASMedia- and Intel chips to compare them with original manufacturer drivers).

Hello chaps, i find the forum and topic while searching for same problem as described here for usb3 drivers on newer systems. I have excelent working win7 system on my laptop, with programs, subscriptions, passwords and other shit, you know what i mean. Now i have bought a intel nuc with 8gen intel i3 cpu, 8019u or something like that, i cloned my windows system on ssd and then mounted cloned ssd in the nuc. Windows booting normaly, after boot none of the usb ports is working, so i cant do anything because mouse and keyboard are not working. I had the same problem on my skylake laptop but fortunately in that case touchpad was working thank god and i could install everything, but the nuc doesnt have touchpad :) Interestingly, usb3 driver from 6 gen skylake doesnt work on 8 gen procesors. What can i do so that cloned system will enable/install the usb ports? Any help appreciated, i am sorry if my english is not the best :)

I am using it with Windows 7 and my RTX 2080 Ti. How are you not having any luck with it? Did you install using the "Have Disk" method from Device Manager and then browse to the INF files? That is how I do it.

Yes, that's how I do it too. I have 2 things that show up with no drivers due to my RTX 2070 Super. I believe they're both related to the USB C on it. Using the drivers that you shared, I'm able to get one of those devices a driver, but when I do, another device mysteriously pops up with unknown driver in place of it.

That new one, and one of two the original ones with no driver won't take any driver from the one you shared. It's not a big deal for me, as I'm not using USB C on it anyway. I just thought it'd be nice to clear device manager of any missing drivers.

Do you know if they have finally been achieved as usb3.1?

It took me about a week to continually modify the USB driver and successfully solve the USB GEN2 driver for the H310/B360/H370/Q370/Z390/HM370 and othet 14nm 300 series chips Now is the time to summarize the method. We can use IDA7.0 and HxD to modify the drivers. The ID replacement method can use HxD to modify the 15B5 and 15C1 of 5.0.4.43,but the disadvantage is that the supported USB3.1 GEN2 can only be one of A36D or other ID, and USB3.1. GEN2 have 9DED, 31A8,and unknown. If you use IDA7.0, there are dozens of methods to modify, but in principle there are only three methods. Both 5.0.4.43 and 17.2.70.3 can be used to modify and successfully drive Intel's 8 Series to 300 Series, Cannon Lake Series, Whiskey Lake Series. It was successfully installed and operated well on the Intel 10nm I3-8121U platform. The difference between the modified 5.0.4.43 and 17.2.70.3 is very limited, but 17.2.70.3 has more channels, for example, the I7-8850H notebook can recognize more USB protocol devices

Intel USB 3.1 drivers for vista win7 win8 win8.1, there are working very well.
Just for communicate，selfuse and test. DO NOT USE IN business environment.

If you have PS/2 mouse or keyboard, you can run the DPinst.exe to install.
If you don't have PS/2 mouse or keyboard,run a PE system and use DISM++ to add it in.
If you need ,you can edit the iusb3xhc.inf file delete all DEV_ID and add like this:

%IUsb3XhcDeviceDesc02% = IUsb3XhcModel, PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0C0330

It can support all intel usb devices and don't need to add any dev_id.


Due to the reason of non resistance, all Intel related mod drivers will be removed from the shelf. I will publish the modification methods in the near future to facilitate your modification.

Hi Guys, any update about 3.1 usb for intel I5-8265U, I still got no luck on installing windows 7 on my pc, mouse and keyboard wont work. Anyway have a great day ahead!
