So...how would I do the conversion ?
I've tried numerous times using disk mgmt etc.
but I do not get an option to convert to GPT.
What I see is;
New Volume (D:) ( I assigned the letter )
1677.90 GB NTFS
Healthy ( Primary Partition )
but when I right click on it, in any of it's locations
shown in disk mgmt.
the only options re formatting options available are "convert to dynamic disk"
or "format the disk"
Convert to GPT is not shown as an option anywhere.
Would prefer to not have to do a re-install but just can't
get the GPT conversion happening.

@Mr. Fox is right, that's what I mean, no reinstallation is required if Windows is not installed on the same drive. Windows supports GPT since Windows XP x64, that's one of the reasong why Windows XP x64 runs on my backup-NAS.

I don't have any hair to pull out so things were about to get ugly
around here.
Used your W7 Pro 64 bit ISO from June 2020 and no problems !
This is going to be a stand alone audio rig so no internet
or possible complications because of that.
Just hooked up my WD 4Tb HD but not being seen yet.
But that should be relatively painless to figure out the correct drive socket
etc. compared to the W7 install:+)

One step forward, one to the side.
Followed Option 2 on the Windows Seven Forum Page.
Was then able to, for the first time, see the option of converting to GPT.
Which I did.
But the disk still only reads 1677.90 GB. and there are no partitions
even within it that could be joined, thus increasing the size closer to 4TB.

Followed your steps and closed the command prompt window.
In Disk Management the HD is not shown in the volume section, but
shows up as ;

Disk 0
Basic 1677.90
1677.90 GB Unallocated
Online

When I right click on the unallocated section I'm given the option of New Simple Volume.
When I follow the prompts using all the default settings, the disk becomes "healthy",
no more grey stripes,but the frickin' size is stil 1677.90.
Do I need to change the Allocation size or the simple volume size as I step through the
New Simple Volume options ?
Am I missing a key W7 update ?

I'm working with Patrick's W7 Pro 64 bit SP2 ISO.
I don't know if it's fully updated or not.
Forgot to ask, I was just so relieved to have it install properly :+)
So, could be that needs to be done first ?
I've also read the Intel Rapid Storage Driver is another possible answer to this issue.
But no one here has mentioned it so I'm reluctant to go there and possibly create more problems.

@Sohei Hy, maybe you refer to me. I suggest that you try one of my ISOs from my FTP site.
General recommendations: Disable fast boot, do not use UEFI boot but legacy boot with CSM enabled, use the MBR-option in Rufus, not the GPT-option.
