I have a Gigabyte z77x-up5 and I have done really a lot of bios modding, many times with zero problems.
Now i will upgrade to itx z270. I was thinking Asus ROG Strix Z270I.
So my question is this: Is asus the same modding bios friendly as gigabyte is? or it has some kind of bios signature check etc...?

I think BIOS Flashback has been dropped from ROG Strix Motherboards.

"fair bit missing here too. The most obvious is the lack of an LED POST code display, power and reset buttons, and a CMOS clear button, all being present on the last generation Maximus version, as well as USB BIOS Flashback - also absent here".

It is very easy to get a modified BIOS flashed into the BIOS chip of an ASUS UEFI mainboard, if your specific ASUS board supports the "USB Flashback".
AFAIK all ROG boards have this feature.

Was wondering what is the recommended stable version of UEFITool to use right now? I went to the authors site and found three versions 0.21.5, A32 NE, + A40 NE.

The A40 even has a different author. Which one you guys recommend?

Hello forum members. I have had a hell of a time trying to flash my Asus GL502VT Laptop bios. No matter what I try using all the methods that you have here on your website I keep getting that the file is write-protected. I'm in desperate need to flash this modified bios I personally updated using UBU tool. I update the vbios and gop driver (skylake) and CPU microcode to ver. B2. In your section for UBU it says that UBU fron 1.20 and up remove security from the bios file. Im confused please help. Thank you for all the help. Please forgive me Fernando if I posted in the wrong section.
