I tried to locate the specs on your tablet and it's looking a bit grim as it's quite limited in expansion capabilities from a cnet review.

Can you confirm there is only 1 USB 2.0 port (or more), no internal optical disc drive, no PS/2 ports?

Can you explain why you need XP installed onto this device and what you intend to use it for because it will help me determine if it's even worth it for you if there are other issues I can foresee?

Since I'm unable to locate all the specs for this device you will have to tell me what ports are on this device on the outside for each side of the tablet.

Here are some other questions I am interested in.

How do you type on this device?

Is this a touchscreen only interface with no keyboard interface peripheral addon?

Does it have a PCMCIA or Express Card slot?

How did you perform the XP OS install test? Did you use a USB optical disc drive?

Do you have the original genuine XP ISO and if so what SP version is it?

I took a look at the uploads you linked as well. I can modify a driver for you to use with a USB floppy drive F6 method if you're willing to test it out.

I've inquired a few sellers on eBay for a compatible USB Floppy drive that might do the trick.

At the moment the price range for this drive looks to be around $28-$32 total for the item and shipping costs off eBay. This and the cost of a blank 1.44MB floppy disk or you might be able to ask the seller to spare you one for free as a negotiation tactic to buy it.

If you're interested in giving this a shot and willing to purchase this USB Floppy Drive off eBay let me know and I'll send you the links to the seller who I think you should buy from.

Once you've purchased and received the drive and have a Floppy Disk 1.44MB. You could probably find this off an old buddy who has old computers and reformat the disk it doesn't have to be new as long it can be reformatted to store the driver files then you'll be fine.

So it will be up to you if you want to take a risk. There are other laptops that could install XP much easier. Maybe a few XP tablet models would be a better choice if it's not about the money.

One USB 2.0 port on the side.
It initially was designed to work with Win7 Home Premium/Pro, however the 2GB of RAM and the Atom processor make it for a slow device. XP would most likely run like a steam machine. It's an excellent note taking device and presenter tool (HDMI port on the side), plus I can connect my USB mouse & keyboard.
The device has a touch screen interface, both pen and finger-based. Other input can be done using USB keyboard/mouse.
No PCMCIA or Express Card slot, only SD Card.
Slipstreamed the XP SP3 with Fernando's AHCI drivers and booted from USB stick. Used both Rufus and WintoFlash. Bypassed the ACPI BSOD with F7.
Yes. The original ISO came with SP3.
I am reluctant to get the USB to floppy just to install XP, given that I got this device from a surplus auction. It would exceed the value of the tablet :)

It sounds like there is a possibility that the install failed because you used the XP OS off a USB drive with Rufus method.

Also you could try installing XP in DOS by copying the entire original XP OS with SP2 untouched folder onto the tablet hard drive. But you will once again be stuck because you need a USB Floppy drive to use F6 to inject the driver I will modify only because of the SATA AHCI requirement. If this had SATA IDE Compatibility mode you would not have to deal with these work arounds and it will install fine. Perhaps looking for a good bargain on an older tablet model would be your best bet. Look for an Intel Ivy Bridge tablet and I can help you better as XP is supported. Nothing newer or the same XP graphics driver missing will make it run like crap.

I also looked at the graphics driver for the GMA600 and there is none for XP so the tablet would act sluggish and as a result would not be worth the effort to use as a tablet even if the OS booted up faster and responded better. Atom models have poor driver support and since the 3D based graphics will not work you will have to just do MS Word for taking notes or running non graphical 2D applications.

Since it was 2011 I believe those USB 2.0 ports may still be usable but having only a single USB 2.0 port is very limiting. You will also need a USB 2.0 hub splitter and connect a USB floppy drive and a USB optical disc drive to do a possible test to the tablet if you ever wish to spend the money one day.

It might also work if using only a USB optical disc drive using the nLited Fernando SATA AHCI modified driver as I think the Rufus USB technique might be the cause of a possible issue which is why I don't recommend that method as it is not guaranteed. This would be the only other possible way to install this with just a single USB 2.0 port.

I also agree that that laptop is too underpowered for Windows 7. 2GB of RAM and the Atom processor is not a good fit. At least 16GB even for Vista to run smoothly and 8GB is bearable. I'd probably go with a Windows 2000 or 98SE install on it as a fun experiment but you would lose the graphics driver and touch screen support and require a USB 2.0 hub to connect the USB mouse, USB keyboard, USB Audio, and USB ethernet to it.

I have to agree. There are certain limitations on the hardware side that make it cumbersome and not worth the time to test.

I may do some research for a cheap tablet to do an XP install experiment one day as I always wanted to try a touchscreen XP compatible tablet.

@XPLives: a bit of a redundant question, but would there be a chance it might work if I try to install it from a USB CD device using the slipstreamed CD? I am looking at some cheap external CD drives on Craigslist.

I've been busy doing data recovery on a 2TB drive. This was the warning I spoke of when using a USB based installer for XP. The best way is still an internal SATA optical disc drive. If your tablet has two internal SATA connectors you could use the spare.

I give it a 20% chance if using USB optical disc drive as even sometimes this won't work. You won't know till you try it. But if you wanted to really be certain I would get both the USB optical disc drive and one of the recommended USB Floppy Drives that I could link that is meant to be XP compatible using the F6 method.

Something that might be simpler to test because there isn't any XP driver for GMA600 maybe you can post all the Hardware ID info for the Integrated Graphics in the same manner as the SATA controller. I will see if I can modify an older Vista driver from GMA500 series and you can test if it works on your tablet. The GMA500 did support XP so if somehow the GMA500 Vista driver works on the GMA600 maybe a chance the XP driver from GMA500 could work. Again 20% chance of success so don't want you to get your hopes up. You probably would do better getting a USB 2.0 Hub with 4 Ports to start with to increase the chance of success given only 1 USB 2.0 port to work with you couldn't connect the necessary USB devices we need.

Also did you upload a video of the XP install process and when it rebooted for one loop? If not you should record one using a smartphone and maybe I can see what happened to troubleshoot it better.
