Hello, I have a Asrock z170 pro4s and I can't boot with a intel 9400f after the bios update. Absolutely nothing happens then I try to boot. I've chosen the correct S-spec: SRF6M and the BIOS was flashed. I have also made the connection on the CPU pin. My original I3-6100 is still working fine. What can I do futher?

The 9400F has 3 revisions - are you sure you inserted the correct microcode?

9400F U0 906EA
9400F P0 906EC
9400F R0 906ED

Have you checked the ME firmware version on the motherboard is correct? (11.6.x.xxxx or 11.7.0.1xxx)

I successfully flashed your BIOS, but it still doesn't work.

Did you connect the SKTOCC pins so that the motherboard detects the CPU?

@revlaay I used the tool and must say I'm impressed with the result. The tool did NOT update the ME version (was 11.0) but that's not a problem.

there is one thing you shoud change, though: currently the microcodes inserted are the ones you have chosen (the latest, although they are currently outdated).
I think it is a better option to give the user the option of different microcodes as the latest provide a performance drop up to 10/15% compared to pre meltdown/spectre mitigation.

I'm using ASRock Z270 Taichi, but Can't boot after updating to mod bios.
I have i7 9700T (R0 stepping) and want to use it.

I have also made a pin mod on the 9700T.
And microcode 906ED is embedded in mod bios, and my original i5 7600K is working fine.
ME firmware version tried "11.7.0.1229" and "11.6.0.1126", but neither will boot.

This motherboard has two BIOS chips, is this the cause?
Are there other ways I can improve?
