@PCGH_Torsten : Once I managed to launch my i7 8700 on a modified BIOS version 2003, everything was in order. but on the next boot uefi demanded an update and did not allow to exit without an update. I was helped by the author of CoffeeTime and now I have version 3805, but the processor runs on 6 cores / 6 threads.

I have no issues on reboots with my 3802=>2202 sequence. @svarmod mentioned though, that new Asus UEFI have problems with more than 8 threads due to module which is not present in 2202. Sadly with 9900K 3802 does not live long enough to disable HT, so I cannot say wether 8 threads / a 9700K would work. 9900K needs 2202 downgrade for now. (8700 with HT enabled probably as well)

Has anyone managed to get i5 8400/i7 8700 working on MSI Gaming M7 Z170 or Asus Z270 Prime-a? Is there any problem with Coffee Lake mod on MSI boards?

Should a Pentium G5600 work without modification on a board modded to accept the i3 8100/8350k?

My dear friend , i got it. All work great . Can i tell u if u block only 2 pins =work one slot of ddr4 , if u block 5 slot = work will fine all slot. I tested asus m8r .

@sheifer hello bro, I'm using mainboard giga z170x gaming 5. And i wanna try to run g5400, i5 8400 without block cpu pin. Will my mobo, cpu not have broken? If fail i can try again but im affraid for my hardware.
And anyone could tell me, what exact G5400, i5 8400 should be connect and isolate in my mainboard z170x gaming 5?

A friend of mine! I experimented with 9900k, it was also scary. If you isolate the contacts correctly according to the table, then the worst that can happen is that the motherboard does not start because the problem will be in bios. I had a start from the fourth time. We must stock up on patience. The instruction is above, also use the program Coffee time. i only know how use asus maximus 8 , i dont use giga. u get U0 mod. u need isolate some pin. see here

@blackcat13 - always backup BIOS first, and you cannot flash modified BIOS with EZ Flash, you must use USB Flashback (With proper USB Flashback name for your BIOS), Intel FPT (Cannot use .cap BIOS, extract body from capsule), or hardware programmer like CH341A (Also, cannot use .CAP BIOS, extract body from capsule)

@blackcat13 - You have to have unlocked FD (or pinmod), or use programmer to unlock FD, in order to be able to flash full BIOS using the command you posted above. With locked FD, you can only flash BIOS region >> FPTw.exe -bios -f bios.bin
To use this mod BIOS, you will need unlocked FD so you can rewrite the FD and ME region, so you need to do pinmod or purchase CH341A flash programmer and SOIC8 test clip cable if your BIOS is soldered to the board.

Why is your ME disabled, corrupted or you disabled? If you disabled it, then you know how to flash ME region, so flash ME region from your mod BIOS, then BIOS region using command above. If you changed ME SKU for your BIOS mod, then you also need to re-write FD region, which requires pinmod or flash programmer.
