The driver page for my Asrock Z97 Pro4 hasn't been updated in almost a year. The RST drivers on that page are ver:14.6.0.1029 (I'm on Win10x64). My current drivers are 13.2.4.100 [PIC] . Are these still the most optimal or should I consider grabbing something more current? Ever since the Win10 Anniversary update, it seems like the responsiveness of my hard drives have gotten a bit slower. Even though that could be many factors other than the RST drivers, I wanted to check here first.

I was checking my SSD to see if it was being Trrimmed after AU after reading some had issues but it was still being optimised but I can now see that after the AU update, my 3 Disk Raid Array is no longer showing as being able to be optimised (not available) , I have rolled the Driver Back one set with DM to 14.8.9.1053 for my ASUS X99A II MB (14.8.0.2377 OROM) but that didn't help and neither did running winsat formal at the CMD PROMPT (SSD FIX only? ) has not forced the Disks in the Array to be recognised as HDD's yet .

the same 3 disk Array on a X58 MB and the 11.2 Drivers on 1511 is fine BTW.

I am not sure if this is why Minitool Partition Wizard Keeps crashing on Opening with an Error in Loader.exe too?

The newest drivers are not automaticly the best.
Nevertheless: If you want to use a much newer AHCI driver with your Z97 system, I recommend to to install the Intel RST(e) driver v14.8.10.1055.

@rivage i tried v13.2.4.1000 & v15 too but v14.8.10.1055 is the latest compatible to our mobo so at the end of the day, i ended up with v14 cos it was newer than v13 & fixed other bugs too.

I registered a account to thank you for taking the time to provide drivers especially for aging platforms. I would like share my findings with a recommendation on your page. A X58/ICH10R in AHCI under Windows 10 with Intel RST(e) v11.7.4.1001 WHQL recommended driver causes severe micro stuttering in games. I've tested AMD/NVIDIA cards with similar results. Uninstalling immediately removes the symptom. Instead I used your favorite v11.2.0.1006 WHQL and it works flawlessly with improved performance over the built in MSACHI.

I saw the post of lacan and i tried it.
I have an ssd phison chipset (kc400) . When I disable c3 , c6 in the gigabyte x58 ud5 i take in as ssd bench in 4k read : 34 mb/s
When i enable c3 c6 i take in 4k read 16 mb/sec with built in ahci drtver windows 10 or intel 11.7 or modded 12.9.


When i have c3 and c6 enabled but with driver 11.2 i take in as ssd 4k : 25 mb/sec , so the lost with c3,c6 is low.
So defenitely somithing is better with 11.2 and an x58 chipset.
All results was after clean installs.

And someone with 11.2 can eneable them and dont lost of speed with all the other versions 4k speed is so slow.
Also i found how to disable lpm in 11.2 driver and it is even better.

One comment from my side: On C236 boards, the better driver seems to be the 14.10 series, not the 15.x one. When I install the 15.x series, I have a strange behavior when shutting down or going to S3 sleep mode: drives are spinned down, then spin up again, then are spinned down again, and then the PC shuts off. With 14.10 driver, the drives are not spinned up again, which is the correct behavior in my opinion. Could report it to Intel, but from my experience, the chance of getting reported issues fixed by these guys is 0.0%...

Please post how you managed it to disabled the "Link Power Management" while running the Intel RST driver v11.2.0.1006.
