      I don't know how many 9230's are still alive in the world but I cannot stop posting...

      I found the newest firmware for 9230 Rev. A1 & A2 at StarTech PEXSAT34RH product site.
      https://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/...EXSAT34RH#dnlds

      BIOS: 1.0.0.1024
      Firmware: 2.3.0.1065
      Boot Loader: 2.1.0.1008

      I tried to update 9230 on my P9X79-E WS and works fine.

      Also I could have more operations on MSU (Marvell Storage Manager) 4.1.0.2027 by mod described at ASRock forum.
      http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?...o-seveice#12680

      Zitat
      My workaround is as follows - it should work with any modern version of MSU:

      1. Navigate to MarvellRaidPage.tpl
      Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Marvell\storage\smarty\templates\MarvellRaidPage.tpl

      2. Edit line 54, changing the value "width=265" to "width=400", i.e:
      <tr><td width="400">

      3. Add the following after line 59:
      <td class="textIndent0 commonButtSS" width="100"><a href="#" class="buttonChar" onClick="MarvellRaidDetail.runUrl('JumpPage.php?Target=getAccelerator')">{t}HyperDuo{/t}</a></td>

      4. Enjoy!

      I could just find the three operations but now the new four operations, Update, Backup, AES Port Management and AES Entry Management also can be found.
      This mod should be only for HyperDuo so I believe all the new operations are because of the newest Firmware.
      Now I can backup and restore the current settings, BIOS, firmware and Boot Loader by Backup and Update operations.
      I don't try AES operations so I have no idea if it works or not.|addpics|adh-3-4476.png-invaddpicsinvv|/addpics|

      @inuchanbt

      Once again you have posted an interesting chart. It confirms the options in UBU, but Intel broke something after 6.1.16, apparently. You updated with Intel tools and BootUtil chose the right modules for your card, but nothing worked for it after 6.1.16. The BIOS issue seem to be a side effect of it, as there is no problem when combining 5.5.23 with 6.1.16. I will also study it further, but it would be a shame to let this hard testing have no use. You should post it in Intel forums and have them chew on the tables. At least the last one is important, it shows where the problem began.

      Thanks for your comment even though my test must be already outside UBU. I would like to make sure these things by myself before posting it to Intel forums. Now I have no idea what my i350-T2 card exactly is. I mean there are many OEM versions in the market and mine had been delivered with a white box so that I should research it at first. Secondly, I have i210-t1 Lenovo and i340-t2 HP version also here. I will try the same test with the EFI firmware versions in single LAN board environment.

      @SoniX

      Thanks, I didn't know if it should be or not should be.

      @SoniX @lordkag

      I found one thing for updating LAN firmware by UBU v1.33 and v1.36 when I was trying many EFI versions that once updated to the 1st option v0.0.07, cannot be replaced with the 2nd and 3rd options.
      As you know, I found it with P9X79 Deluxe BIOS v4801.
      [[File:option 1 cannot be replaced wuth option 2 and 3.jpg|none|auto]]

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 09.03.2015

      @lordlag

      Thanks for your advise.
      I tested lots of combinations including your suggested v6.6.04 on board and i350-T2.
      The test results suggest that v5.5.23 as well as v6.1.16 is the best for all the network ports on my system. I prefer the newer one, v6.1.16.
      [[File:Matrix_for_all_the_test.jpg|none|auto]]

      Actually, I am a little tired, take a rest...

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 09.02.2015

      @lordkag, @SoniX

      Finally I could update P9X79 Deluxe BIOS via older version v4502.
      To consider in case of some trouble with BIOS, I tried again i350-T2 with v6.9.07 and BIOS with v0.0.07 but I got the same results.

      This is all the result of the test. I fixed some errors of the first matrix.
      [[File:Matrix.jpg|none|auto]]

      So I believe these two combinations will be the best for my system.
      - v6.1.16 on both i350-T2 and P9X79 Deluxe
      - v6.1.16 on i350-T2 and v0.0.07 on P9X79 Deluxe

      Now I am going to find how to downgrade i350-T2 flash to v6.1.16...

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 09.02.2015

      @lordkag, @SoniX

      I tried i350-T2 with v6.9.07 and BIOS with v0.0.07 (option 1 by UBU 1.33 LAN menu).
      I updated port #1 of i350-T2 then both #1 and #2 are updated, as you suggested.

      [[File:Test Result Matrix i350-v6.9.07 BIOS-v0.0.07.jpg|none|auto]]
      Now on-board USB2.0 of my system has become quite unstable.
      I should also try v6.6.40 but now P9X79 Deluxe BIOS cannot be updated to any versions even by BIOS Flashback so now I am investigating it.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 09.01.2015

      @lordkag, @SoniX

      I tried all the four patterns of enable / disabled status for i350-T2 flash rom.
      [[File:I350 v6.1.16 - BIOS v6.9.07.jpg|none|auto]]

      i350 chip always prefers own UEFI driver v6.1.16 but likes v6.9.07 on P9X79 Deluxe BIOS better than her partner's.
      Of course, v6.9.07 doesn't know 82579V so that his menu disappears when all the v6.1.16 are disabled.

      Additionally, I found an interesting side effect. Any USB flash drives connected to the on-board USB2.0 port of the chipset cannot be detected by BIOS when even one UEFI driver v6.9.07 is active.
      I tried most of all the USB2.0 ports including internals and five kinds of USB flash drives, and got the same result for all. But in any conditions, USB BD-RW can always be detected by BIOS.
      Every NIC port governed by v6.9.07 is always disconnected in the BIOS menu and this might have some relation with this phenomenon because all the NIC and USB port can be used after Windows driver is loaded but I have completely no idea about the reason.
      I have noticed USB2.0 ports cannot detect USB flash drives but I didn't investigate the causes because the the on-board USB3.0 (ASM1042) ports work well enough.

      @lordkag, @SoniX

      I tried bootutil in DOS booted from USB flash drive.
      This is the result of bootutil withaout any options.

      Intel(R) Ethernet Flash Firmware Utility
      BootUtil version 1.5.69.0
      Copyright (C) 2003-2015 Intel Corporation

      Type BootUtil -? for help

      Port Network Address Location Series WOL Flash Firmware Version

      2 2C534A011334 10:00.0 Gigabit YES UEFI,PXE Enabled 1.5.50
      3 2C534A011335 10:00.1 Gigabit YES FLASH Disabled

      Port 1 should be 82579V on board.
      Port 2 should be i350-T2 port 1.
      Port 3 should be i350-T2 port 2.

      So, I dumped by BOOTUTIL -SI -NIC=2 -FILE=I350#1.BIN.

      -NIC=3 option dumped exactly the same.
      -NIC=1 option occurred an error and nothing dumped.

      The firmware of the Port 3 is disabled. This is the reason why only the i350-T2 port 2 is controlled by v6.9.07 of P9X79 Deluxe BIOS, I believe.

      I also found these three messages while booting in this order.

      PXE-E01: PCI Vendor and Device IDs do not match!_

      The 1st (error) message appeared even without i350-T2 board so that it should be for 82579V.
      The 2nd message should be for i350-T2 port 1.
      The 3rd message should be for i350-T2 port 2.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 09.01.2015

      @lordkag @SoniX

      I tried bootutil and this attempt could let me realized many things.
      Anyway, I upload the dumped file now.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 09.01.2015

      @lordkag, thanks for your detailed consideration and advice.

      I love updating i350-T2! But now I cannot reboot this system so I will try to dump the image on i350-T2 by Bootutil later.
      FYI, I upload the boot options of i350-T2 #1 and #2 on Intel Proset 10.3. I cannot find the same of 82579V.

      #1 It says that on the Main window (left), Intel boot agent is currently disabled. On the Flash Information window (right), version numbers are not displayed for LAN on Motherboard (LOM) devices.
      [[File:i350-T2 #1 boot option.jpg|none|auto]]

      #2 EFI Version: 6.1.16, PXE Version: 1.5.50
      [[File:i350-T2 #2 boot option.jpg|none|auto]]

      Sorry, it's Japanese but I have no idea how to change language for this.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 08.31.2015

      @lordkag
      I am sure with double check that I had flashed with the option 2 (EFI 6.9.07) by UBU v1.33.
      I also checked my I350-T2 board with other system and found that it has EFI v6.1.16.

      As you suggesting, my local environment may cause the opposite. The BIOS menu of the i350-T2 2nd port reports it is disconnected but all the three ports are surely connected to Cisco C2960G switch but all the three ports of the switch are configured with IEEE 802.3ad teaming members.

      I have no idea why this happens but I just can say that now 82579V and i350-T2 1st port are controlled by EFI 6.9.07 of i350-T2 while i350-t2 2nd port is controlled by EFI v6.1.16 of the mainboard in fact.

      The Intel 750 NVMe SSD isn't shown within the UEFI BIOS of my ASRock Z97 Extreme6 as well, although the NVMe modules had been added by ASRock itself.
      Nevertheless I can boot fine from the NVMe SSD.
      This means: The NVMe SSDs are detected by the BIOS, but not shown there.
      Yeah, you are right.
      P9X79 Deluxe can boot from Intel SSD 750 with the unmodified original BIOS v4801. As you described, the BIOS can detect it so that adding the NVMe modules causes nothing at all.

      Zitat von imsims im Beitrag #198
      i have sabertooth X79 bios 4801, i think same asus bios for all X79.
      i'm able to boot from 750 with original bios. you don't?
      I think you might ask me, right? Yes, P9X79 Deluxe can boot from Intel SSD 750 without any BIOS modifications.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 08.30.2015

      @SoniX
      I checked the UEFI driver versions and found 82579V and i350 for 1st port are v6.1.16, and i350 for 2nd port is v6.9.07.
      The same happens to OROM.
      [[File:82579V.jpg|none|auto]] [[File:I350-1.jpg|none|auto]] [[File:I350-2.jpg|none|auto]]

      I also tried again to rewrite with option 1 and 3. I got the same result to my report that no menu appeared for all the LAN chips.
      My supposition seems to be correct.

      Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I should consider existence of UEFI firmware on the i350-t2 earlier.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 08.30.2015

      @SoniX
      Thanks for pointed out. I have no idea how to upload more than 2 MB files.

      I reboot to check if OROM works but now I wonder these things happen by some reason:
      A) 1 or 3 conflicts with UEFI driver v6.1.16 on the i350-T2 and both of them are interrupted by each other.
      B) 2 is interrupted by UEFI driver v6.1.16 on the i350-T2 and the UEFI driver on the i350-T2 can be activated for the three chips.

    • inuchanbt has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 08.30.2015

      I am reporting about different result of updating Intel LAN EFI UNDI.

      My P9X79 Deluxe has 82579V on board and i350-T2 (two ports) in PCI-E slot. (also have Realtek 8111E on board but disable)
      I updated LAN OROM PEX and EFI UNDI of ASUS P9X79 Deluxe v4801 BIOS by UBU v 1.33.

      I can have these three options and had two different results.

      1 - Update omly Intel LAN 82579/i217/i218/i219 (misspelled )
      - OROM BootAgent CL 0.1.04
      - EFI Gigabit UNDI v0.0.07[/b]

      2 - Update only Intel 210/i211/i350
      - OROM BootAgent GE 1.5.72
      - EFI PRO/1000 UNDI v6.9.07

      3 - Update for all 1 GbE LAN
      - OROM BootAgent GE 1.5.62
      - EFI PRO/1000 UNDI 6.6.04

      As for 1 and 3, No additional menus appear for any LAN chips in the UEFI (BIOS) configuration.
      As for 2, three menus appeared in the UEFI configuration for all the three LAN chips.

      [[File:150830125654.jpg|none|auto]]

      I expected at least 82579V menu would appear for 1, just two i350 menus for 2 and all the three menus for 3 but all the three results were different from my expectations.

    • I added the NVMe modules of ASUS Z97 Deluxe v2401 BIOS which extracted by @Fernando to my ASUS P9X79 Deluxe v4801 BIOS in spite of bootable with the original unmodified BIOS from Intel SSD 750.
      As expected, I couldn't find any changes about the UEFI (BIOS) menus and any performance.

      Thanks guys ASM1042 on P9X79 Deluxe could be updated to 130125_00_02_00 and working perfectly!!

      Firstly, I had tried to update the firmware from 120816_02_02_6D (which is available at ASUS website) to 140124_10_10_04 but downgraded to 100803_00_00_0D
      And then, successfully updated from 100803_00_00_0D to 130125_00_02_00
