You can flash via FWUpdate tool with command "FWUpdLcl -f new_fw.bin", no matter it is EXTR or RGN.

Okay, thank you for the fast answer.

Hi all, I checked recently the website and saw there is a new version. So i checked and it is not RGN, it is EXTR. I'm still newbie in this stuff so i read after this. Looks like i have to modify the RGN image if i want to flash it, but i haven't done that, only flash it (i'm talking about an older version i flashed in the past, couple weeks or months ago). Do i have to do any adition step now, or can i flash the new version as is? Thanks for your time.

    • Well the first picture has no relevant to nvme at all, second you should try UEFI first, because nvme uses eufi mod for all. When your PC boots, press F12 or F8 depending on your bios to get to the boot menu, you should see the nvme drive there (only if you installed windows on it). If you don't have windows on the drive, you have to install Windows 10 using eufi-boot. (install windows in GPT mode, search on google if you dont know how to do it)

Also the drive sometimes appears in Storage Controllers in Device manager, and sometimes it doesnt. No idea why that is.

It sounds like contact problem. Turn off the system and unistall then reinstall the adapter and your nvme ssd. After that go to UEFI settings and make sure u use the recommended settings. And try again your OS now. I hope you will have more succes cheers!

And Fernando, whats the main difference between version 2 and 3 of this module? Thanks! :)

Well, i have some strange bugs in my bios, sometimes it locks me out and even if i change some settings it does not change anything. Only solution is to reflash the bios, but then i lose all of my settings. I looked up this bug on the internet and found out it is a comon bug and it is related to old ME fw versions. So i am considering updating it, but i'm conserned about fail. So my question was: is it possible to downgrade to a previous version, like the official one which comes with the bios file etc.
Edit: I did not update my ME yet. I have the official version installed.

Okay, I have a stupid question, you have been warned! Is there any way of going back to an older version, if latest doesn't work? Next question, if the flash process fails, am i able to get back the system, like a recovery backup or something? Thank you for your time!

    • speter2 has written a new post "[Discussion] UBU Tool related Questions, Reports and Suggestions" 05.05.2017

How to use UBU? Because as far as i know it requires a program which no longer can be found or used. I tryed to download it from the web with no luck. I couldn't find it anywhere and without it, i have no idea how to use this tool. Maybe my question seems stupid, sorry for that...

    • I can't see the windows manager entry from boot menu using official beta bios. I will try to flash this modded one made by me using your tutorial. Is there any chance that i will brick my mobo? Ohh and thank you for the fast reply :)
Edit: i flashed the new bios and the Microsoft Windows apeared under boot menu. I enabled UltraFast boot and it booted just fine. Thank you for your help and for this helpful tutorial. :)

    • Greetings everyone! I am very nooby in EUFI modding section, so I wanted to ask the veterans if I am doing everything okay. So i folowed the tutorial in the first post, i used the version 2, this is the bigger file i guess, and read the last 10 comments and found out that there is a version 3, wich has 3 different package, I used the .ffs file and there is a .efi file. So i have modded my bios using version 2 .ffs, but do i need to do anything with any .efi file? I haven't got any not enought space error. I tryed using the latest version of UEFITool, but it did not allow me to use insert option and also gave me some weird errors. So if someone could confirm that i've done everything okey, i could flash this new modded bios sooner :) Sry for my bad english and thank you for your time!
Edit: Asrock released a beta bios called 1.90M. I am currently using it and i can only boot using clover-boot method, because my intel ssd does not apear under boot menu.
